Welcome

Enjoy the social media flyers and videos created for the Missouri Association of Nurse Anesthetists (MOANA), as well as a PowerPoint designed for Susan Bullington that I have completed during this internship. Throughout this experience, I have created a style for social media, increased our following and follower interaction numbers, and ensured consistent posting.

About Me

My name is Gabrielle Burns

I graduate on May 8th, 2026, and look forward to beginning my career. For the past four months, I have worked as a Social Media Director Intern for the Missouri Association of Nurse Anaesthetists (MOANA). I have learned much about technical writing and editing, improved my design skills on various platforms,  and gained confidence in my ability to succeed. I am grateful for this experience, and created this portfolio to highlight some of the work completed over the past four months.

Advocacy Day 2026 Flyer
1.13.2026

I created this flyer on Canva to promote Advocacy Day. I was sent the details by a board member and then added design elements to make the flyer. I used a photo from last year to promote the event because it is important for our followers to see board members at our events. Creating this flyer was my first time playing around with branding for MOANA, and it led to more cohesive social media content.

Dates for Advocacy Day 2027 & 2028
3.10.2026

I created this flyer in Canva to share the dates of the next two upcoming Advocacy Days. I designed the calendar by inserting lines vertically and horizontally, and then I added text boxes to each section. It was difficult to get everything lined up, but I could not find a blank calendar template. I learned to embrace the process during this project.

MOANA Vineyard Social
4.2.2026

Board member, Dalton Sanders reached out to me with the details of the event and asked me to create a flyer. I went to Canva and created the flyer, then sent it to Dalton. He liked the design of the flyer, but had more content he wanted to add. I rearranged the spacing and reworked the design slightly to fit the content. I enjoyed creating this post because I normally do not get to collaborate like this.

Meet Your Board Monday-Connor Hager
4.28.2026

Each week we try to post a Meet Your Board Monday, a post dedicated to introducing a selected board member each week. I enjoy creating these and giving each person a chance to shine. I create the design based on how large their statement is and how many photos they sent in. Each post is personal to the board member and branded with MOANA. I like to incorporate each person's personality into their introduction.

Social Media Videos

I attended trips with MOANA to capture content for videos, highlighting the importance of the organization and the quality of work that they do. The videos encourage members to get involved and capture the heart of our events, the CRNAs who attend them. Reels have been proven to be our most effective social media posting method; therefore, I try to incorporate them into our social media whenever possible.

Advocacy Day Promo Video

I wanted a creative way to promote Advocacy Day to Missouri CRNAs. I saw this trend on my social media and wanted to recreate it using photos from last year's Advocacy Day. I designed the video in CapCut and familiarized myself with the new platform. I had some minor spacing issues, but overall, I am extremely happy with the results. I think that this video successfully captures the joy of connecting with others to make a difference.

PowerPoint Presentation for Susan Bullington

April 2026

Board member, Susan Bullington reached out to me to create a presentation for the fall meeting. She sent over the content and the order in which she wanted it presented. I edited the content and organized it to my liking before working in PowerPoint. I designed the presentation to be simple but engaging. I utilized the elements and shape features to organize information whenever possible. Susan and I collaborated on the editing process, and she is satisfied with the results.
